MapInfo MapXtreme
MapXtreme is a webmapping server which you can use to build (have build) a GIS application with a web interface. There is a Java version and a .NET version.
Advantages
The advantages of a webmapping application are:
- Simple distribution: with MapXtreme, it is very simple to disseminate GIS functionality and information with web technology among a large group of users. If your users can access the internet through a browser, the distribution simply means mailing a URL to the user group.
- Easy management: This also greatly facilitates management of the application and the data. If the data are modified, then all users will have immediate access to the changed data. If the functionality in the application is modified, it is not necessary to install it on all PCs.
